1. Warm up
Gives a game: “ expressing game”
A student reads in silently the sentence and express the sentence by using gesture.
The whole class guess “ what the sentence means”.
Asks sts to play a game.
(Divide the class into 2 teams, Which team tells more words first and correctly will be a winner.
 Corrects, says something more and leads to the lesson “to know more about the mass media in the world, let’s come to the new lesson”.
2. Pre – reading
Asks sts: Do you like playing sports?
Which sport do you like best?
- Asks sts to prepare 3 questions:
Where was the 2002 World cup held?
- Presents some new words.
( Use pictures, synonym, explanation to explain the new words.)
-Reads new words and asks sts to repeat.
- Checks the understanding of new words.

Asks sts to read the passage silently and to get more information about the
History of WC..
- Guides sts to do Task 1.
-The words in A appear in the reading passage. Match them with their definitions in B.

I. PRONUNCIATION:
- Uses the collection of the cups.
- Asks some questions to lead students into the lesson:
1) What’s it? (Pointing the largest one)
2) Is it big cup? 
- Then asks students to explain the following sentence:
This is the biggest cup I’ve ever seen.
- Asks them to read it aloud.
- Introduces: Today, I’d like to introduce you the two sounds /g/ & /k/ and then practice pronouncing them more.
- Explains something about the positions and their pronunciations of these two sounds.
Eg: + get, go, leg, begin,..
 + keep, ticket, book,..
* Notes: /k/: isn’t pronounced or mute.
Eg: know, kneel, knit, knot,
Activity 1: Listen & repeat
- Asks the students to listen and repeat twice in chorus.
- Asks them to repeat individually.
- Goes round and helps them do it.
- Gets feedback, listens and corrects mistakes if there are.
Activity 2: Pick out the word containing the sound: /g/ & /k/
- Asks the students to look through the six sentences & pick out them.
