New lesson (42 minutes) Stages Times Teacher’s activities Student’s activities I.Warm up (5 minutes) - Ask to students to look at the picture in projector, give name of pictures and read them. - Divide into 2 groups and ask students to have a student of every group go to the board and write some words that they listen from teacher and write down. The group which write with more and more words, will be the winner. - Give feedback - Lead in the new lesson - Work invidually and give the answers - Do teacher’s requirement -Try to listen to give the correct answers -Listen and correct II.Pronunciation (16 minutes) - Introduce the sound /s/ -Read aloud and ask students to repeat - Describe how to make the sound /s/ ‘s’ is often pronounced /z/ when it comes between two vowel sounds ‘s’ is often pronounced /z/ when it is the last sound or after a vowel or a consonant except from f, k, p, t và th ‘s’ is often pronounced /s/ when it is the first sound in the word or the final sound after f, k, p, t và th. ‘c’ is often pronounced /s/ when it is before e, i, y -Read these words and require all class to look at the textbook and read aloud -Call some students to read them -Give feedback Practise: -Ask students to work invidually and read aloud 6 sentences in the textbook -Call some students to read -Correct pronunciation for students and give feedback -Listen to the teacher and repeat - Listen and take note. -Listen to the teacher and reapeat - Work inviduall -Read aloud all the sentences - Listen and correct III. Grammar (21 minutes) 1.To+infinitive - Ask students about remembering the use of to + infinitive -Ask students to look at in the project and answer the question To feel relaxed, I listen to classical music. / I listen to classical music to feel relaxed To cook breakfast for her family, she gets up early morning. /She gets up early morning to cook breakfast for her family. -Ask students to give the form, comment on the using and meaning of them in these examples - Elicit the use of “to+infinitive”: + To express purpose + To answer question whatfor + Be placed at the beginning or at the end of a sentence + Like so as to (not to)/ in order to (not to) + V-infinitive -Ask some students give some similar examples -Give feedback Exercise 1: -Ask students to work in groups of four and do the task -Ask students underline new words and explain the meaning of them -Walk around to provide help -Call some students of every group to write the answers on the board - Ask students to answer the question while other students are writing on the board -Check and gives feedback Exercise 2: -Ask students to read all the sentences carefully and underline new words to do exercise 2 -Help students know the meaning of them -Give some words to suggest for them learn post buy see invite read sing write -Ask students to do exercise individually -Walk around to provide help. -Call students to write the answers on the board - Ask students to answer the question while other students are writing on the board -Check and gives feedback 2.
