I. Objectives:

1. Knowledge:

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Understand the content of the record about Lan & Huong’s plan.

- Know about vocabulary relating to film, cinema;

- Know how to make the conversations to make plan, arrangement.

2. Skills

- To promote Ss to develop listening micro-skills as listening for specific information, taking notes while listening, and summarizing main ideas.

- To help Ss develop talking and writing skills and the skill of working in pairs and groups.

3. Attitudes

- Students work effectively and enthusiastically in the classroom activities.

- Students have positive and constructive attitude in learning skills

- Students are interested in film and cinema.

Objectives:
Knowledge:
By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- Understand the content of the record about Lan & Huong’s plan.
- Know about vocabulary relating to film, cinema; 
- Know how to make the conversations to make plan, arrangement. 
2. Skills
- To promote Ss to develop listening micro-skills as listening for specific information, taking notes while listening, and summarizing main ideas.
- To help Ss develop talking and writing skills and the skill of working in pairs and groups.

- Students work effectively and enthusiastically in the classroom activities.
- Students have positive and constructive attitude in learning skills
- Students are interested in film and cinema.

IV. Anticipated problem
- Students may not be familiar with the note-taking task, so T should be ready to provide some note-taking tips.
- Time for After listening part to practice talking about Lan and Huong’s plan is not much. If students don’t know how to summary information to a short presentation, it waste more time.

- Listen and answer the questions.

Pre-listening:
(10’)
- T asks Ss to look at the table on p.136 and goes over the points together with the whole class by asking questions such as “How often do you go to the cinema?”, “How often do you watch TV?”, “How about listening to the radio?” etc. and calling on some Ss to answer. Other Ss listen to T’s questions and tick the boxes that best reflect their answers.
- Lead in the lesson 
“Today, we will listen a conversation between two friends talking about the activities in their plan” 
T introduces the new words that will appear in the listening passage:
1. Suppose /səˈpouz/ (v)
to think that something is likely to be true
Eg: I don't suppose he will come.
2. Guess /ges/ (v) 
Synonyms: expect, believe, or suppose
Eg: She guesses the child's age at 14 or 15.
- Read each word 2 times and ask sts to repeat them.
- Leave sts 1 minute to self-practice reading these words and with each new word, make one sentence.
- Ask 2-3 sts to read all the words aloud in front of the class.
- Listen and help sts to read the words correctly.
- Give some structures:
1. How to offer, invite someone or ask the permission by using questions
Using modal verbs:
- Can/Could... + S+ do something?
- Would you like+ doing sth?
Eg: Can you help me?
 Would you like going the picnic with me?
2. How to ask someone about what would they do on a day.
 +What do Sb do on..?
 + What about + day?
Eg: What about Friday?
- Listen and think of the question

While-listening:

TASK 1 (8’): Listen to the dialogue. What are Lan and Huong planning to do together?
- T asks Ss to look at the picture in Task 1 and predict the content of the conversation. T should elicit by asking questions like “What can you see in the picture?” “What do you think they may want to do?”, “What film may they want to see?” etc.
- T then give guiding question: “You are going to listen to two friends, Lan and Huong. What are Lan and Huong planning to do together?
+ Ask sts : When we talk about some thing or talk with other, where is the topic appear?
=> its usually appear in the beginning or in the end of conversation 
 Lan and Huong’s plan is the topic of the conversation. So, listen carefully the first and the last statements.
- Play the tape once
- Stop and ask sts if they have the answer
- Guide sts to find the answer 
- Ask students to listen again 
- Ask students to give the answer of questions in the task: “What are Lan and Huong planning to do together?”
- Check students’ answer by playing the first of dialogue once again
TASK 2: (12’) Listen again. Write their plans for the next week on the calendar. Compare your answer with a partner’s. On what day can they meet?
- T introduces the task
- Before playing the tape, T asks Ss to look through the calendar. - Ask sts look at the table and make sure that they know what information they need to fill in the blanks.
- Note sts that they should focus on name, time, group words, phrase, try to listen to the questions and have to Take short notes 
- Remind sts that they will listen to the dialogue twice times
- Play the tape the first time
- Ask sts what they listened?
- Play the tape the second time
- Give students time to complete the task ( 2’)
- Ask sts to compare with their friend and answer the question
- Play a game: LUCKY STAR

- After game, ask a student to write down their answer in board.
- Require others to commend their friend’s answer.

- Ask sts to look at the table and find out the day when both of them free to go to the cinema together
