PROCEDURES Class organization New lesson: (45 minutes) Teacher and students’ activities Content Activity 1: WARM-UP: Conquer game (8 minutes) Aims: Lead-in the topic. Provide students with some words of community topic. Normal greetting: “Hello class, how are you today?” “Do you like playing game?” Step 1: T tells Ps the rule of the game “ OK. Now I will show 6 questions at the screen and you will raise your hand to answer.” “If your answer is correct, you will have a gift. Otherwise, you have an incorrect answer, nothing for you.” “Do you understand?” “Now look at question on the screen and choose the best answer.” Step 2: Ss do as required “Let’s come to the first question. 5 seconds for you.” Step 3: Ss give answers. Step 4: T checks the answers Do you think it’s correct or incorrect? Look at the board. Congratulations! → Lead in the new lesson. Step 1: T give instruction: "Look at the book page 38" "You will listen to the recording and immitate sounds of new words." Turn on the recording. Step 2: Ss do as reqiured. Step 3: Ss give their answers. Raise hand to repeat how to say this word. T ask Ss to stand up and speak louder the words. Step 4: T gives feedbacks “ Good jobs!” “ All class write new words on the notebook. Read after teacher all words.” Checking vocabulary ( 2 minutes ) Aim: Ss remember new words. Step 1: Give instructions: T ask Ss to review new words then close their notebook. “Now I would like to divide you into 4 group.” “You will work together to fill in the blank using the given words. Which group hang the correct answer out first is winner.” “3 minutes for you. Activity 3: Answer the questions(15’) Teacher and students’ activities Content Aim: Ss have a chance to practice listening skills Step 1: T ask Ss to work in groups and listen to the recording then answer the question. "Move to task 2, you will work in group and listen to the recording then answer the question in 5 minutes. " “Write down their answer on the board and hang it out after finishing.” “Are you clear?” “OK. Are you ready?” Teacher goes around the class to provide help. Step 2: Ss do as required. Step 3: Ss report Group leader of group 1 move next to the group 2’s board and group leader of group 3 move next to the group 4’s board. “10 points for a correct answer.” A member of each group explain for the whole class about their answer. Step 4: T give feedbacks. “Time up. Time to check.” Teacher call a member of each group explain for the whole class about their answer. "Where can you find the information in the conversation?" Teacher show the correct answer on the screen and ask a Ss read it. "4 group leader will check answer for other group" Expected answers: Read the dialogue again and answer the question. 1. Improve speaking skills. Step 1: T give instruction: Practice: Fill in each blank with a suitable expression: by chance / well / that sounds great / not really Huy: Daddy, I’ve got a surprise for you. Daddy: Really? Step 2: Ss do as required Step 3: The representatives of the pair present their pair’ dialogues to the class. Step 4: T gives feedbacks and choose the best dialogues.
