Procedure: Teacher's Activities Students' Activities Warm up (4 mn) - Write two following sentences on the blackboard and call students to read: - Present two sounds and distinguish between them. - Read . Today we will practise pronunciation three double vowel sounds /ei/, /ai/ and / ɔi/. 1. Pronunciation: - Activity 1: Listen and repeat: /au/ and /∂u/ - Present and read aloud /au/ and /∂u/ - Ask students to follow. - Correct the mistakes if necessary. - Present and get students read some words have nearly the same pronunciation: - Activity 2: - Ask students to work in pair and find out the words which content the vowel sound /au/ and / ə:/ in text book: + Listen and say the number one or two for the words you hear. Say 1 for /au/ and two for / əu /. * Grammar and Vocabulary: - Reported speech: statement +_ Definition: - Activity 1 : Exercise 1( textbook - page 89) - Explain the aims of the exercise. - Ask students to work in pair. - Goes round and helps. - Ask students to go to the black board and correct the mistakes if necessary. -- Correct students' mistakes. - Activity 2: ( Exercise 2) ( textbook - page 90) - Ask student work alone then work in pair. - Activity 3: ( Exercise 3) ( textbook - page 90) *Conditional sentence type 1: - If I don't go out much, I'll do more homework. - Get students to read the example carefully before doing the exercise. - Give some other examples. - Ask students to work in pair. - Goes round and helps. - Call some good students to the blackboard to correct. - Correct students' mistakes. * Homework : - Distinguish the use of " I' and " when" Do exercise 4 in language focus in exercise book. - Students read. - Distinguish between two sounds. - Students to practise pronouncing two vowel sounds. - Read.
