Procedure: Teacher's Activities Students' Activities Warm up(4 mn) - Ask sts close the book and ask them some questions. 1. What's your address?/Where do you live? 2. Class! Do you know the place where she live? - Could you show me how to get there? - lead in the lesson. 1. Pre- Writing Task 1: (page 87 ) - Explain the aim of the task. - Ask sts to read the letter in 3 minutes. - Explain the new word and grammar. - Emphatics the way to give directions: + get out of... + turn right... + turn left.. + go over.. + walk past + take the 1st /2nd turning. - Ask sts to work in pair. - Go round and help. 2. While-writing: Task 2 (page 88) - Ask sts to read the situations carefully and remember the information which need to pay attention. - Give some new words. - Get some groups hang their task on the black board. 3. Post-writing: - Task 3 (page 88) - According to two tables above - Ask students to write a letter to Jim, telling him the way to your house from Boston Railway station. - Ask students to work in group. - Go round and help. * Homework : Write a letter to invite your friend to come to your house. In you letter give directions to your house from the station. - Listen and answer. - Work in pair, read carefully and make a guess the meaning the word in the instructions. - Work in group of four. - Listen and answer. - Find out the connectors and the imperative form of the verbs from the instructions. - Work in pair, discuss and answer. - Pay attention to the words and phrases to give directions. - Group work. - Write a letter.
