New lesson: Teacher’s activities Student’s activities * Warm-up (5’): - Turn on a part of song (Despacito), ask Ss listen to the song and answer questions. Do you know this song? What kind of this song? How often do you listen to music? - Today we are going to learn more about kinds of music: Unit 12: Music Lesson 2: Speaking - Listen to the song and answer the questions. A. Pre-speaking: (10 minutes) Task 1: Answering questions based on the reading text. - Introduce the situation: You are going to read what Ha Anh says about music. - Give Ss some structures: + keep sb happy = make sb happy: Làm cho ai đó vui. + cheer sb up= make sb happier/more cheerful: Làm ai đó vui hơn. +it’s easy to do sth: Quá dễ để làm gì đó. - Ask Ss to work individually and answer 4 questions simple tenses to answer. - Call some Ss to present their answers. - Listen to the Ss and give feedback. * Suggested answers: 1. She likes pop music. 2. Because it keeps her happy. 3. The Backstreet Boys. 4. She listens to music all the time. B. While – speaking: (15 minutes) Task 2: Asking and answering about music - Tell Ss what they are going to ask your friends, neighborhoods, family’s member to get information to complete the table below: Person 1 Person 2 what kind of? why? when? where? Who with? - Introduce about the first colum in the table: what questions they can ask if they want to know about their friend’s favourite. - Introduce some phrases to talk about music: + make sb excited/relaxed. + help sb forget troubles and worries + relaxing/ peaceful...... - Ask Ss to begin the activity. (time allowed: 10 minutes). - When time’s up, ask Ss stop. C. Post- speaking: (15 minutes) Task 3: Now report what you have found your partner: - Call some Ss to report what they have got to the whole class. (2-4 ss) - Before Ss report , ask Ss to look at the example and elicit some structures they can use: + Both A and B like .. + Music makes Sb happy/ relax,... + A likes, but B prefers. *Suggested examples: Today, I will present about the ......(introduction). Both A and B like classical music. (what) A likes it because it makes her/him relaxed while B likes it because it is easy to listen to.
